We have had a wonderful 2015 holding some unforgettabe weddings, corporate events and hen do's! And of course, who can forget the renovation of our rustic Hornington wedding barn which has proved extremely popular with brides-to-be. 2016 looks to be even busier, with many exciting weddings to look forward to. With the summer wedding season drawing to a close, we are now turning our thoughts to magical winter weddings. There are so many reaons why you should consider a winter wedding. It is such a beautiful time of year with crisp days, frost-covered fields and maybe even a dusting of snow. The darker evenings allow you to easily create your own cosy, romantic atmosphere with a venue filled with fairy lights, candles and perhaps a roaring log fire.

Our History

Although Hornington seems like a quiet retreat now, it has a long and interesting history, with the first recorded mention of Hornington appearing in the Doomsday survey of 1086. However, a settlement at Hornington it is predicted to pre-date this, with Anglo-Saxon coins being unearther on the site, suggesting that there was a settlement at the time of the Viking raids and there was a rush to hide the wealth. 

The original Hornington settlement was located down by the river Wharfe, comprising of 360 acres of arable land, 12 acres of meadow and woodland. this was a thriving village, but gradually dispersed over the centuries,

Are you looking to get married next year but have not found a venue yet? Dates are running out for 2016, so if you are interested in getting married at Hornington Manor, make an appointment with Jo to see our new wedding barn.

Do not forget, we now have a civil ceremonies licence, so you can choose to get married at a number of beautiful locations around Hornington Manor. Alternatively, if you would prefer a church ceremony, the quaint Bolton Percy church is only a 3 minute drive away!
